Feeling Conflicted?

Scan_Pic0005I received a message today from a friend of mine on Facebook. She asked about what ICV is trying to do, and explained that her nephew is excited about a cruise he is about to go on. She told me she is feeling conflicted about it because of what happened with Jason, and what I, along with ICV are trying to get done.

Here is my response to these concerns:

I do not want people to stop going on cruises. I do not want people to hate them, or to not enjoy the ones they are on. In no way do I want to stop the cruise industry from entertaining people. What I want is for the cruise lines to care more about the passengers. I want them to take simple steps to protect the passengers from crimes of all types. I want them to properly care for the victims, and the crime scenes when crimes do occur, and I want them to stop keeping the fact that crimes do exist a secret. I want an end to the cover-ups that are happening, and some form of closure, or at least explanation to the families of victims. I want the FBI to take these things seriously. Most of all, I want third-party security aboard the ships. Security that has no allegiance to either the passengers or the cruise lines. Only to justice, and truth.

I want everyone to enjoy their hard-earned vacations without fear of being robbed, sexually assaulted, or going overboard never to be seen again. I want everyone to love their trip, and tell their friends about it when they come home. I want EVERYONE TO COME HOME!

If you are planning a cruise, by all means go and enjoy yourself. Just take time to know your surroundings. Realize that yes, you can fall overboard and there are people on the ship with you who do not share your moral beliefs. Take steps to stay safe, and never EVER go anywhere alone!

I would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. I am speaking for myself on this post, not ICV, although I am fairly certain that they share a great deal of these ideals.

Thanks for reading. Stay safe!
